Frontiersmen in the Old West faced a life of constant hard work, danger, and isolation as they pushed into unsettled lands for expansion. Their lives revolved around clearing land, building shelters, hunting, trapping, and farming to survive, often in harsh conditions and in conflict with Native American tribes defending their territory.
